Normandy Sequence Dance Club celebrated its 60th Anniversary on April 9th 2011 at Normandy Village Hall.  83 members and supporters attended the event which included sherry, dinner and wine,  and champagne and cake.  Dancing was to the excellent music of Larry Green and included dances from every decade of the Club's existence.

The photo (left) shows leaders past and present (L-R Tricia & Brian (present leaders), Pat & John, Maureen & Peter, Joan & Gerald and Joyce & Richard).  Joyce Hutchins cut the cake as she has been with the Club  since its formation, joining as a child.  Currently the Club is bucking the trend and membership is rising.

The last leaders, Maureen and Peter Kelly, were presented with an Orchid by the Club for their many years of service to the Club.  Unfortunately they had to give up as leaders of the club due to Peter's continuing ankle problems.  He has recently had another ankle joint replacement following the failure of the previous operation.  We hope this operation is more successful so he can return to dancing.

The Club looks forward to another 60 years of dancing and meets Wednesday evenings from mid-September to mid-May.
